Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Trevor Bauer certainly can hold his own in the Twitter universe when discussing ongoing negotiations between MLB owners and the MLB Players Association or debating who does or doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame.
The Reds nevertheless had Bauer's back on Wednesday.
As noted by Fansided's Mark Powell, three-time World Series champion Curt Schilling came out on the losing end of an online war of words with Bauer after Schilling mocked how Bauer suffered a serious hand injury while playing with a drone ahead of a 2016 American League Championship Series start:
Bauer noted that, despite that setback, he and the Cleveland Indians nevertheless advanced to the World Series. Bauer also dropped some statistical knowledge on his overmatched foe:
Also, we won the game in the ALCS that I had to come out of due to my finger so...you’re just wrong about everything here. Including my WAR. It’s not great. It’s good. Wouldn’t expect a buttcurt old man to understand that though. https://t.co/0f6qBIMDOX
