Former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre is making a return to compete at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 16 (FPI) on December 14, 2023. UFC announced the return of GSP during the UFC 290 press conference, and in a Tweet on July 6.

"UFC FIGHT PASS INVITATIONAL is a series of submission-only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) competitions created and produced by UFC FIGHT PASS that features superstars from the world of grappling." (UFC.com)

GSP (26-2, 21-2 UFC) has been absent from combat sports for close to seven years. The former two-division champion has hinted at returns before, even revealing that he would have tempted a comeback fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov back in 2020, if "The Eagle" called him out instead of retiring.

An official opponent hasn't been announced for GSP's return, but GSP himself mentioned that Khabib Nurmagomedov, Kamaru Usman, and Anderson Silva "are all very attractive," as potential opponents.

"I received a list from the UFC today, we're gonna [check to see] who is available [and make a decision] with the UFC and with my people [so that I come up against someone people want me to face.]" (via MMA Junkie)
