This season, so far, has been much like previous Crystal Palace campaigns. The club sits 11th in the Premier League. Roy Hodgson’s outfit are safely out of the relegation zone but not currently in striking distance of a European spot. To make a run toward the top seven the Eagles will need all of their attacking pieces. According to The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel , Eberechi Eze will extend his stay and make a huge difference.

Aside from his social media post, Mokbel wrote an article for The Daily Mail Online that details the new contract Eze and Crystal Palace negotiated. £100,000 a week will go the 25-year-old’s way if the agreement is reached. Talks between the two parties had been going on for “a number of weeks” leading up to this news.
Only “the formalities to be concluded” for Eze, who can be deployed as both an attacking midfielder and a left winger. 10 goals in the Premier League last year put him on the map of the big clubs in England and rumours swirled that the former QPR player would be swayed away from Selhurst Park this past Summer.
Eze will remain an Eagle for the time being. His previous contract was down to 18 months, and Mokbel was not able to verify how long the extension would keep him with Hodgson, but the signing ends “any notion of Eze leaving in January.” Manchester City in particular were a potential suitor for the 25-year-old, as were Newcastle United per Mokbel’s article.
Nursing an injury to start the season, Eze has returned to match fitness and is already providing an attacking spark. An “exceptional” talent, losing him in January could have dented Palace’s hopes of qualifying for European play for the first time since the 1998/99 campaign.
