Manchester City reserve shot stopper Stefan Ortega Moreno was pleased with their display in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
The Citizens were beaten 1-0 away from home by Newcastle United, crashing out of the competition at the first hurdle.
However, Moreno believes that a heavily rotated City team put in a very good shift against a determined home team.
"I think the performance was quite well," he said to club media.
"We had a lot of rotation today. How we played was really good against this tough opponent. They press all the time. We had a lot of ball possession and tried to play our style of football.
"We had a lot of young players. It was tough today. At the end, I'm disappointed about the result.
"I think they only had one or two chances today, not more. So it's unlucky."
